 ON SUNDAY August 29th, at the La Manga resort, recently formed
Torrevieja Cricket Club took on the rather more seasoned side of La
Manga. Torrevieja won the toss, and due to some early overcast
conditions, and moisture on the pitch, they decided to bowl first.

 THE SPANISH Regional Children’s Tennis Tournament starts next week at
the Sports Centre in Pilar de la Horadada. The event, which takes place
between the 31st August and 5th September, has been organised by the
Municipality’s Tennis Club.

 LOCAL SWIMMING sensation Adam Stewart has just returned from the British
Learning Disability Swimming Championships at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.
There were over 200 swimmers taking part with all types of disabilities.
The one day event started at 9:00 and ended at 19:00 and was run by
Mencap, DSISO and the Special Olympics GB.

 LA MANGA CC still well in the charge of the Costa Blanca cricket league
campaign, played on Sunday 1st August, well sponsored by Murcia Villas.
La Manga CC thrashed an Alfas X1 that was depleted due to some key
players not travelling with the Alfas Team to La Manga.
