eta-large.gifETA Attacks Again

Many municipalities around the country performed a ritual silence in rejection of last Friday’s terrorist attack by those who are believed to be members of the terrorist group ETA (Euskadi Ta Askatasuna) the militant wing of Batasuna).

Amongst the participating Councils were Altea and Alfas del Pi, where Council representatives and a good number of citizens joined together in poignant noon services lasting, in most cases, five minutes.

The citizens and authorities wanted to show to their joint respect and disgust over the senseless and violent attack on a National Police Inspector, Eduardo Puelles Garcia.  He was killed during an explosion caused by a device placed beneath his car, parked in the northern city of Bilbao.  Garcia leaves behind a grieving wife and two children.

The end of the period of silence was marked by loud cheers and applause for the dead man and the wish for an end to the slaughter.
