Automatic Swimming Pool Water treatment: Healthier pool water and simplified pool maintenance. Traditionally, pool water is treated by adding chemical substances like Chlorine, ph reducing or increasing substances and flocculants. Most of these substances are toxic and hazardous for human health. Chlorine as the main substance you add to your pool is not very stable and vanishes into the air which is why you constantly have to add tablets or powder.

Unfortunately the producers of these tablets have to add conserving substances to avoid the tablets/powder dissolving even before the chlorine can ever reach your pool. These conserving substances are extremely toxic as well and, unlike the chlorine, do not vanish once you add them to your pool. They accumulate in your pool water and could become a health risk if you don’t change your pool water on a regular basis.

Nowadays there are far healthier options to treat your pool water. Salt water chlorinators (salt electrolysis) are the most popular and effective systems:

Salt electrolysis systems generate chlorine from the common salt dissolved in the water. The necessary salt for their operation should be added to the pool in a concentration of 4-6 Kg/m3 (6 to 9 times less then seawater). Water treatment by electrolysis is a closed system in which there is no loss of salt. The chlorine generated destroys the organic matter and pathogens present in the water, and becomes transformed again into sodium chloride (common salt). The products break down, they act and they are regenerated again. For this reason the concentration of salt remains constant.

These systems can be incorporated in any existing installation and the advantages are:

• Healthy clean and germless pool water without chemical substances: No irritation to the eyes, no dryness of the skin and no unpleasant taste.
• Less chlorine smell and better looking, extremely transparent and permanently clear and soft pool water.
• Lower cost since you do not have to constantly buy and add chemicals to your pool.
• Fully automatic system, so less or no maintenance of the pool water and impeccable water quality even when you’re away.
